Given the small number that composes the presbyterate of the Catholic Diocese of Townsville, the Priests’ Council will be comprised of all incardinated priests of the Diocese of Townsville, in good standing, and all priests living in the diocese who exercise an office for the good of the Diocese. The Bishop convokes all meetings as President, and raises issues he considers important for the Diocese. The Council of Priests collaborates with other Diocesan agencies and Councils on various matters and oversees the pastoral, physical and spiritual welfare of the priests of the diocese.
