Catholic Centre
The Townsville Diocesan Office is located in the Catholic Centre (McGuire House) next to the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 270 Stanley Street, Townsville.
The building was originally the Bishop’s House and was blessed and opened by Archbishop J. Duhig in October,1937. Substantial renovations took place to the building and in February, 2000 Bishop Raymond Benjamin Blessed and Opened McGuire House. The opening coincided with the 70th Anniversary of the foundation of the Diocese of Townsville.
