Good Shepherd Catholic Parish (GSP) is seeking a Community Multicultural Officer to undertake systemic and group advocacy, and community capacity-building activities for the benefit of people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD) and to strengthen multiculturalism across the Mount Isa community. 

This is a position with a clear vision of applying a person-centred approach to work within a community development framework for CALD people to increase their ability to participate positively in the Mount Isa community. 

Reporting to the Parish Priest through a Parish Multicultural Task Committee, this position continues to develop, implement, deliver and manage Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS) Workplan Activities, which primarily target stay-at-home mothers and children, along with their families, from varied cultural backgrounds. The main objective of these activities, and this program, is to promote social cohesion in the community, thus improving the lives of those who have moved to the Mount Isa community through connections with others.
