  • Catholic Diocese of Townsville, QLD
  • Location: Bishops Office, Townsville

The Catholic Diocese of Townsville is led by the Bishop Timothy Harris DD who was announced as the Sixth Bishop of Townsville in February 2017. The Diocese is comprised of 26 parishes which span an area from Proserpine in the south through to Ingham in the north and extends west to the Northern Territory border. The Diocese includes the major commercial centres of Townsville and Mount Isa and many rural and remote communities including Palm Island.

The Bishop has taken the opportunity to review the operation of his Office and this role has been reshaped to provide an increased focus on supporting parishes and agencies and the mission of the Catholic Church.

Reporting to the Bishop and leading a sizable team, this position is ‘outward facing’ and provides leadership for a range of pastoral programs, projects and events, throughout the parishes and agencies, which support the mission and priorities of the Diocese.
