Welcome to the St Mary MacKillop Parish in Mundingburra, Townsville

Under the Patronage of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop 

Our main Mass centre is Holy Trinity Church located at 43 Ross River Road, Mundingburra (located between St Joseph's Catholic School and St Mary MacKillop Early Learning Centre).

Our Parish Vision statement is:  Centred in Jesus Christ, we are a vibrant, worshipping, Catholic community who care for each other and our world.

The parish includes the suburbs of Mundingburra, Aitkenvale (to Anne St), Hyde Park and Hermit Park. It includes two Parish schools, St Joseph's Catholic School, Mundingburra (P-7) and St Margaret Mary's College, Hyde Park (8-12) and the St Mary MacKillop Early Learning Centre (Mundingburra). 

Mass is held at the Holy Trinity Church as well Villa Vincent Home for the Aged, Acacia Street, Mundingburra.

Our Parish Leaders:

Fr Peter Quilty has been our Priest in Residence for the past two years and is actively invovled in our Parish.

Mrs Lyn Horner has been our Pastoral Leader for more than 12 years. Previously Lyn was the Assistant to the Principal (Religious Education) at St Joseph's Catholic School, Mundingburra. Lyn has enjoyed a long career in education, teaching at Catholic schools within the Townsville Diocese.

Parish Church

Children's Liturgy
Children's Liturgy is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, except during school holidays.
During Mass, children of all ages are invited  to the front of the Church where the priest will give them a blessing before they attend Children's Liturgy based on the Gospel.  Children's Liturgy is run by a parishioner who is also a Catholic primary school teacher.  Children's Liturgy  is held in the Parish Centre behind the Church and lasts approximately 15-20 minutes, after which the children are then escorted back into the Church to join their families.

Marriage
Weddings are arranged by appointment by calling the Parish Office. Please give at least three (3) months notice prior to your selected date.

Baptism
Baptism is offered either during Mass or outside Mass on the 1st Sunday of the month. Please contact the Parish Office for further details.

Sacramental Program
Enrolment forms for the Sacramental Program can be obtained from either the Parish Office or the School office (St Joseph's Catholic School, Mundingburra). The program commencesearly in the first term of each year.

Funerals
Our Bereavement Team assists families during the funeral rite. The first contact is made through the Funeral Director. The Parish assists with the planning of the funeral liturgy.
