About the Social Justice Committee (SJC)

The Social Justice Committee has the following terms of reference:

Principles of Operation

• Act as a catalyst for social reflection

• Advocacy - informed opinion on issues

• Social justice is core business of the church

• Formation - to become a group with specialist knowledge

• Emphasise the importance to be peaceful people

• Raise issues, sometimes in a humorous way, and to make them attractive so that people will want what we've got

• It is important not to be confrontational

The Bishop's Advisory Council is considering ways in which the findings of this report can be effective in helping to diminish the effects of disadvantage in our diocesan communities
