'Listening with Her Heart' - Anna Chandler (chair) Townsville Diocese Familiy.life Council

Eight years ago, Anna Chandler had a virus. The virus resulted in her full hearing loss in her right ear, a condition which has continued to deteriorate each year since in her left ear............."I remember sitting in Mass, feeling sorry for myself when it all started to happen eight years ago. it was all very negative and unclear what was happening. But, somehow, I just drew strength from the youth group and my faith community at home and the people around me, and decided that I have to do something positive with this situation and find the blessings in it."..........

Letter for International Day for People with Disability - a letter from Bishop Terry Brady

'At our baptism, we are welcomed and commissioned to spread the Good News, to produce fruit that will last and to use our God-given gifts. We are all called to witness the life of Jesus Christ through our prayer, our offering and how we share our gifts.......we are challenged and called to be a loving, compassionate and inclusive community: to truly be One Body in Christ.....In the life of our parishes, one of the challenges is to ensure that all people are included in the life of the Church, especially people with disability, their families and friends who support them.'
